Final Project-Sophie
Here's my final project. My brother's starting up a band so he's writing songs for them, thought I'd try hand-drawn animation to him putting his stuff together.

Project two from Sherry Ren
Sorry for uploading this so late.
I've used some 3D techniques to complete the graphic overlay. Instead of creating patterns or strokes, I put the emphsis on the faces to show the structure of the space.
Hope you like it.
Cheers,
Sherry Ren

Radiohead competition
Hi everyone, Luke and I are working on a big animation project for a Radiohead competition and we'd like you to view our conceptual animatic for feedback and views (the competition is in part judged by views).

i think it's time
This is a short film that explores the idea of self-therapy as i reluctantly let go of romantic associations that are forever reminding me of an old love.

A Chinese Restaurant-Jane
Instead of taking photos of interior spaces or architecture,
i video taped the table top of the table that we were eating at.
Dispite this not so authentic nor mystical "chinese" restaurant and mismatching bg music,
i still sense something going on on the table,
apart from the food and the eaters.
things running around and stuff...:)

My approach for this work was to represent a space that is me and a part of my creative process. The idea was that the flat colours would act as the visual energy and mood. The vector images highlight significant parts that are particularly important in making my space productive and inspiring. The shapes fill the space like ideas running through my head. It is the idea that different surroundings change your frame of mind.

Ben Rimington - Nature Taking over
FINALLY! Finished. Here it is even though the quality is terrible.
It is my representation of nature taking over.. I think it worked out pretty well.

Gerard Clark - "Landscaping"
Joel please excuse the poor video quality, as this is the best quality my PC could manage to output without crashing at this stage. I'm having it looked at by a technician hopefully tonight, so never fear the final will be of the highest video quality once my hardware problems have been resolved thanks Joel!

Kuen-Hye Hong_ My study room
Thank god ~ Finally I finished this project!I don't know why it doesn't work everytime i render my work..Back to my project! I chose my 'study room' as a place. It's becasue i spend more than 10hours in a day to do some assignments, eat something, and for daydreaming. When im working on my projects, I believe this rectagular space gathers all the energies to strengthen me and makes me to concentrate on my work. To explore this kind of energetic and joyfull feelings i chose bright colours and animated the lines, and i found the music which is composed with the 'super mario's effect sounds. Anyway..Enjoy..

Sophie "The Garage"
Sorry- posted on the wrong page...
I thought I'd use this image of my garage and illustrate its occupants. I used a kind of naive vector pencil drawing to show my dad and dog who 'live' there and other little details and critters that share the space with them-Sophie Stefanakis

Nick Roberts
This piece turned out like an ad for Federation Square in the end.
Updated. For some reason the sound didn't work the first time. Hopefully it does this time.
Hoi Iong Kuoc, Cecily Proj2
The details are lost in both videos, but vector art looks better in the blooger video.......anyway, the video was filmed in the melbourne aquarium, I found these two fish which hardly move and they are so cool.
Blindside
The space I chose is Blidside exhibition space in the city. I’ve been a volunteer (i.e. slave) there for a while now and have a strong personal connection with the space. Unlike visitors who walk in and out, I tend to spend up 3-6 hours at Blindside, sitting the gallery or assisting at the openings. As a result I see the place differently to most people.
I wanted to show the passage of time, as well as show a gallery space as a ‘magical’ place. The abstract moving shapes on the walls and floor are supposed to be rays of moonlight spilling into the space and going nuts.
Be nice, kids. No other assignment has ever brought me this close to tears before.
P.S. the Internet killed it. It's not supposed to be so dark.

Crystalline Green
Here is my post - the image is of my studio space at home. The graphics are a response to the environment and how I feel when I'm in it - my thoughts and ideas - constantly evolving, moving, overlapping and everything is a little crazy!
My original animation had the 'pulsing' graphics (on the right-hand wall) moving more subtly.. which I think I like better, but it was harder to see.

G.Park-pipe traveller
i am interested in movements of lights, shadows, perspective lines, textures and mediums or colours that can reflect 'temperature'of the object.
i took photographs of pipes under the library once in the afternoon and once in night time/early in the morning and touched them to feel differences in temperature.
pipes always remind me gas explosion, they seems organic not solid object, and noises under the library always makes me anxious about unhappened dangerous events.
thus i tried to express all sorts of feelings i felt as well as things i have seen while i was photographing.
i found abstract painting as a good way to express feelings, so my work is combination of acrylic painting and playing with after effeects.

Chris Clarke - Part 2 - Die For Oil
Thought I'd try something different. I've set the scene of a wholesome looking family watching tv. They're seeing a much different opinion of the war to what they might normally see through the media.

Finally! Ive been trying to use the wrong email address to log in . . .
Anyhoo, here's the vid - it's not too rapid in its delivery, as I was trying to clearly voice my opinion on the subject matter.

Hoi Iong Kuoc, CECILY #11
This is my montage video here, I wrote and cut from newspapers, tried to get different fonts (size and font style), put them together nicely and then take photos, matching the voice in final cut. This is the first time for me to use traditional method, not using computer graphics. It was fun.

Marianne (Sophie) No. 5 (overlapping)
This is my project (number five). I wanted to give a feel of struggling to make out all the information, as media only really exposes us to snippets of what's going on in the world. I chose to look at hands-mostly taken from the news- and how you can draw your own meaning from them when you can't see the full picture.

#16 - Kumiko
Hi, here's my clip.
I tried to respond to his voice by matching images (especially red background bits) to his voice level/rhythm.
and tried to avoid type.

I can’t think of anything more annoying than Jello Biafra’s voice. Fore some reason it reminded me of Triumph des Willens. Thus, I decided to combine old movie style with modern day street art from Hosier Lane.
All footage was shot on a DV camera, then converted into filmstrips, and put together in Aftereffects. The grainy / old film textures are a bunch of stills thrown together. They’re layered on top of one another, blended and repeated a gazillion times, but they are STILLS. I swear.

Vidéo
Number 13, I think this is. As long as those numbers are right.
so
Enjoy. (I think it's done, anyway).
Luke.
And for a bit more Final Cut | After Effects fun! here's a project from last year...
You need the sound way up, I think.
Works best with good speakers (though no doubt youtube crushes the sound quality as well, so hey).
