Desiree Seow 20589727 - Fringe Festival TVC
30 second animation:
Description:
For my final project, I chose to create a TVC for the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2011.
The purpose of the TVC is to convey and advertise the main attributes of what the Fringe Festival is all about, to the general public. It also clearly targets the art side of Melbourne as its audience. Basically, the Fringe Festival wants “inspiring, shocking, disgusting, surprising, entertaining, challenging or provoking” artworks to be submitted from contributors.
The style used in the animation is one of my personal favourites: stop-motion. I find that stop-motion portrays the artwork in a raw and natural way on the screen, and also it added to the handmade feel of the animation. All sounds in the animation were recorded from my home printer, and then mixed in various ways to produce the sounds heard.

keegan Lillo - Project 1 - Die for Oil Suckers
I took 10 photos of myself creating the basic Phoneme shapes. I then vectorised these images in Adobe illustrator, where I altered the colours and removed the eyes. I then imported the final series of Ai files into Adobe After Effects so that I could use them to create a lip synch effect, which was in time to the provided audio clip.

Final Project
Hi! Finally got it ready, i was trying for a sketchy type look with some flowing motion graphics for the song "United states of whatever" by Liam Lynch. i think it needs more grunge... ive added shaky camera movements to the HD one on the dvd, an some funky overlays that enhance it a bit.

Bradley Whitwell - Final Project
My project is a video response to apart of the song ‘the metro’ by system of a down, I’ve gone for a black and white noir feeling, and tried to give the piece an overall dark tone to it, as well a progressive story feeling. I think the audio went a little out of sync now that I’ve uploaded it, I hope its better on the CD.
+ I ditched my previous idea with the zombie, I was having a lot of trouble working with video footage, and came to a dead end.
I also just realized I didn’t leave this description with my CD. So I hope you see this first.

I have created a 30 second commercial for Onna Jewellery to promote the website.
The concept of this video:
because I set the target audiences will be female around 18-30, so I used pink to be a main colour, and also create some flourish to make the commercial look more elegant
I used photoshop and after effects to put everything up.
hope u like it~

I am making a video installation explore the relationship between human body and nature.
The human figure moves forward and backward with the images over the whole body all the time through. My idea is to show how nature interacts with human and how nature can actually affect on human condition.

Marx Final Project
I have created a one minute ten seconds video sequence using the theme of consumerism with an ad busting twist. The sequence is called Anti-Addz and is based on counter culture.
My aim is to create a piece that acknowledges that we are bombarded by advertising and marketing in our every-day lives. We are reminded and surrounded by these unnecessary messages. At the same time I am distorting and changing the original message.
Laura - Experimental Found Footage
Experimental Found Footage from Laura Chong on Vimeo.
My original concepts were based on the story of The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and combining that with found imagery. I really liked the story and the idea of found imagery but I didnt really have a direction to take it. I then moved on to the idea of using found imagery from the 50's. I found a really good library book full of quirky 50's advertising.
From there, I started looking at found footage from the 50's and came across all this really good stuff from archive.org which lets you use their stuff free. I decided on creating this experimental piece, using really random bits of found footage with quotes from the book. Instead of just quoting it in English I decided on using different European languages to enhance that feeling of obscurity.
Final Project_Remi Wong 20412223
My idea is to make a promotional video for the animated "Sk8er Boi" (the one that I am making up), one of Avril Lavigne's song.
The concept of the graphic:
I am making a cultural cross-over for the look and feel, ie :
rock music x Chinese traditional painting style background x Japanese manga style characters
There are 2 discs in my submission
- playable dvd (contains all projects' animation/motion graphics)
- data dvd (contains the design document for project 03)
Enjoy!!

Ive made a 30seconds game trailer, but it looked more like an anime trailer actually...my main inspiration came from the game "The World Ends With You".
Vi Nguyen - Final Project
This video was created as a gift for my friends who are getting married on Saturday, June 13.
The video has been created with a focus on text based images. Scrambled letters, words move in and out to create images of the couple. The images have been referenced from photos.
The background music is called "3 little words" performed by Nu Flavor.
NOTE: hey Joel, i think my song was disabled on YouTube so i think it'll be better for you to watch off the DVD
Ben Foster - Final Project
My project is a 1 minute title sequence for a movie called East-West, which is about two graffiti gangs. I have used a combination of still images, video and vector art to create a 'virtual world'. Since I love the look of 16mm, I have tried to mimic the aesthetic of grungy, old 16mm film. Music is Half Full Glass of Wine by Tame Impala
Final Project - Jenny Siew Ing Ting (20250282)
The idea is inspired by one of the Sidney Sheldon’s book titled “Tell me your Dreams” where the girl named Ashley has multiple characteristic and she doesn’t know about it until a Police told her that she have murdered her own father and so on. It is a book promotion video. Alter Ego in other words mean multiple characteristics.
Hoi Fong Ng 20339739 - Final Project
My final project is to create a 1 min motion graphic about a music festival advertisement in Taiwan, the campaign called “Simple life”, include time, address and showing the guest list of the brand and performer as well. Try to combining music, moving still images and simple motion graphic.
Venus Tse _ Project 3
My idea is to create an opening for a short film which about basketball. Introduce the players' name and what are they keen on. Introduce them by typing their name next to them Mainly media and photographs and stop motion.

Anabel Lau - Teaser Trailer [Final Assignment]
It's a bit unnerving to work on this at night when you have close up shots of creepy dolls staring back at you in 720 x 404 resolution. :(
The idea behind this project is to make use of random, non-related ordinary images found anywhere, and create a story sequence from it. The project uses mostly still images, with very minimal video clips, and to keep the flow of the trailer going, I attempted to make use of the movement and space of the stills. Grainy photos take place in the past, and the clear ones take place in the present.
Storyline: The basic storyline is told through these found photographs, of this prestigious family who looks poster happy - but what everyone didn't know is that there's another family member, a daughter, who they locked up in a room elsewhere for years, ever since she gave birth to a baby. There was abuse and torture from the women in the family, while the father looks elsewhere, until she, followed by her baby, finally dies by their hands. The baby wants to reunite with the mother even after death, but they can't do so because they kept re-living their deaths over and over each day. Pretty soon, that anguish turns to something else...

Moving Image - Nokia Trail Commercial from Jim Wang on Vimeo.
Basically, my idea is to create a 30 seconds commercial for a company. By using After Effects to move design elements from one space to another. I made this commercial for Nokia, taken the Nokia logo and the soundtrack is 'Unwritten - from Natasha Bedingfield'. I named this project : 'Trail' because of my concept of creating spaces within the environment.Chan Wing Kei
This is an advertising for the public transportation comany, Connex. My idea is based on hand drawings like kids. The trains, buses and trams go through the landmarks in the city and nature area in the suburbs to show that the transportation run everywhere in Melbourne.
Edward Aryana - Final Project
Motion City Soundtrack - Everything is Alright - Motion Graphics from edward aryana on Vimeo.
For this project i'm creating a 1 minute motion graphics (known as well as kinetic typography), with the music from Motion City Soundtrack sync with my animation. On this motion graphics i'm heavily relying on my typographical layout and basic shapes. This project has been influenced a lot by the MK12's motion graphics. Some of the words and shapes are animated sync to the beats, that help enhancing this motion graphics.
Final Project - Hand-drawn Animation
My final project is a hand drawn animation which is going to be shown on my personal website as self promotion. The images are illustrations I have used in some of my work and the song I have chosen - “Boom Boom Pow” links to my alias – PowPow, which is evident throughout my website and folios. The animation is shown as a flash video on my website - www.jessicapower.com.au.

also I insert the oriental music which suits with my images. Hope you enjoy:)

note: the music in the background is rather quiet, so turn it up =P
Also, the images aren't synced with the music because I only decided to insert the sound after I had made the animation. Enjoy!

Joel please excuse the poor video quality, as this is the best quality my PC could manage to output without crashing at this stage. Kuen-Hye Hong_ My study room
Thank god ~ Finally I finished this project!I don't know why it doesn't work everytime i render my work..Back to my project! I chose my 'study room' as a place. It's becasue i spend more than 10hours in a day to do some assignments, eat something, and for daydreaming. When im working on my projects, I believe this rectagular space gathers all the energies to strengthen me and makes me to concentrate on my work. To explore this kind of energetic and joyfull feelings i chose bright colours and animated the lines, and i found the music which is composed with the 'super mario's effect sounds. Anyway..Enjoy..

This piece turned out like an ad for Federation Square in the end.
Updated. For some reason the sound didn't work the first time. Hopefully it does this time.
Hoi Iong Kuoc, Cecily Proj2
The details are lost in both videos, but vector art looks better in the blooger video.......anyway, the video was filmed in the melbourne aquarium, I found these two fish which hardly move and they are so cool.
Blindside
The space I chose is Blidside exhibition space in the city. I’ve been a volunteer (i.e. slave) there for a while now and have a strong personal connection with the space. Unlike visitors who walk in and out, I tend to spend up 3-6 hours at Blindside, sitting the gallery or assisting at the openings. As a result I see the place differently to most people.
I wanted to show the passage of time, as well as show a gallery space as a ‘magical’ place. The abstract moving shapes on the walls and floor are supposed to be rays of moonlight spilling into the space and going nuts.
Be nice, kids. No other assignment has ever brought me this close to tears before.
P.S. the Internet killed it. It's not supposed to be so dark.
Elizaveta
Crystalline Green
Here is my post - the image is of my studio space at home. The graphics are a response to the environment and how I feel when I'm in it - my thoughts and ideas - constantly evolving, moving, overlapping and everything is a little crazy!
My original animation had the 'pulsing' graphics (on the right-hand wall) moving more subtly.. which I think I like better, but it was harder to see.

G.Park-pipe traveller
i am interested in movements of lights, shadows, perspective lines, textures and mediums or colours that can reflect 'temperature'of the object.
i took photographs of pipes under the library once in the afternoon and once in night time/early in the morning and touched them to feel differences in temperature.
pipes always remind me gas explosion, they seems organic not solid object, and noises under the library always makes me anxious about unhappened dangerous events.
thus i tried to express all sorts of feelings i felt as well as things i have seen while i was photographing.
i found abstract painting as a good way to express feelings, so my work is combination of acrylic painting and playing with after effeects.
