Anabel Lau - Teaser Trailer [Final Assignment]

It's a bit unnerving to work on this at night when you have close up shots of creepy dolls staring back at you in 720 x 404 resolution. :(

The idea behind this project is to make use of random, non-related ordinary images found anywhere, and create a story sequence from it. The project uses mostly still images, with very minimal video clips, and to keep the flow of the trailer going, I attempted to make use of the movement and space of the stills. Grainy photos take place in the past, and the clear ones take place in the present.

Storyline: The basic storyline is told through these found photographs, of this prestigious family who looks poster happy - but what everyone didn't know is that there's another family member, a daughter, who they locked up in a room elsewhere for years, ever since she gave birth to a baby. There was abuse and torture from the women in the family, while the father looks elsewhere, until she, followed by her baby, finally dies by their hands. The baby wants to reunite with the mother even after death, but they can't do so because they kept re-living their deaths over and over each day. Pretty soon, that anguish turns to something else...
